D1 | Discipleship Ministry

One of our core values is ‘Intentional Discipleship’.  Our Lord Jesus not only instructed us in the Great Commission to go and make disciples, but was also very intentional in modeling ‘discipleship’ throughout the gospels.  Therefore, we are committed to ‘intentionally’ discipling others!  One of the ways we do that is through our periodic, 16-week D1 class.

Our desire for Applewood is that everyone is discipled. We believe that discipleship is the foundation for properly equipping the believer. We want to equip the body with a doctrinally sound foundation, by applying God's Word to ourselves, and then equipping them with biblical tools to disciple others.

D1 is a systematic approach over 16 lessons. Many that have completed this class have commented on how it has changed their lives!

We believe discipleship is a vital part of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). We believe that discipleship is the vital link that grows and equips each believer to become more effective in the entire Great Commission. This encourages and equips the body to grow and be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

Forge Men

At the Applewood Forge Men's Ministry, we want to engage men and encourage them to live as "Pastor Dads"! Obedient and faithful servants and stewards - every day. Through Bible studies, fellowship, prayer, ministry projects, small groups, and events, men have the opportunity to be shaped, sharpened, and serve as Kingdom men. Every man who is connected to Applewood is a part of Men in Ministry - the goal is to have every man be an active part!

The first Saturday of every month, join us for our 3G's Men's Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall at 7AM. Great food, fellowship with brothers, a devotional, and you will be out by 8AM!

"Renowned Reformed theologian and pastor R.C. Sproul not only aids readers in unearthing the meaning of Scripture for themselves, but also explores why it is essential for every Christian to study it in the first place. With his usual common sense and enthusiasm, Sproul both offers clear explanations of eleven basic steps of interpretation, as well as provides simple how-to's for using them."

Men's Bible Study meets Tuesdays, 6:30-8PM in the Fellowship Hall. The cost of the study is $15. Our Fall Kickoff is Tuesday, September 14, in the parking lot and our study will begin on September 21.

Revive Women

Our Women’s Ministry exists for reaching, teaching, and ministering to the women of our church and community. Our goal is that women will come to faith, maturity, and service through a relationship with God, His Word, and each other. There are many distractions in life. Our theme verse calls us to turn our attention to things of worth: "Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me according to your way.” Psalm 119:37

Our Bible studies, programs, and events are planned with your needs in mind. Your heart will be inspired, your life enriched, and your relationships strengthened, especially your relationship with the Lord. Our hope is that you will experience the activity of the Lord in your life, and be a part of the great things ahead that He has planned for each of us. Come along with us and let’s walk together to get closer to Him.
